Everybody wants to make working out a healthy habit. But not everyone is capable of seeing the desired results, especially when you’re a beginner in the fitness world.

And I have been there too…

I was a beginner once too…

I struggled to get results too…

And I’ve dealt with a bundle of struggles, including stress eating, not getting desired results, and freaking out over the numbers not changing on the scale over the years.

So it’s safe to say that I know how incredibly motivating it is to hear someone’s personal experience as you embark on your journey.

And I wanted to share with you the simple fitness secrets I’ve learned in my 7-year-long fitness journey.

Read till the end for a bonus tip.

Here are 9 ways you can get the most out of your workouts:

1. Plan ahead

When you’re starting your fitness journey, don’t push your limits. Plan your schedule to fit your goals. Start slowly and increase the intensity.

2. Be consistent

When you do something regularly, it becomes a habit, and that helps you be consistent.

3. Workout in the morning

It’s easier to miss your workout session in the evening because you’re either stuck at work or interrupted by other commitments. So it’s better to work out in the morning and feel the rush of dopamine throughout the day.

4. Stay hydrated during the workout

Keep sipping on water throughout your workout session to minimize tiredness. Don’t wait until you feel exhausted.

5. Eat healthily

Irrespective of what workout you do, you won’t see results if you don’t combine it with the right eating habits. Ensure your meals are packed with the right micro- and macronutrients.

6. Get yourself a workout buddy

It’s motivating to have an accountability buddy. Even when you’re not feeling like working out, a call from a friend will definitely make you hit the gym.

7. Warm up before you start

I cannot stress this point enough. Ensure that your muscles are ready for a workout before beginning any workout. Warm up with dynamic stretches to avoid muscle tightness during your session.

“If you have the courage to start, you have the courage to succeed.”- Mel Robbins

8. Listen to your body

Feel free to take a break at any point during the session if you experience unusual fatigue or exhaustion. Don’t force your body beyond its limit.

9. Get rest

As much as it is important to be regular with your workout, it is equally important to give your body some rest. This will allow your body to rebuild and recover.

Bonus Tip:

A bonus tip is to not skip your post-workout stretches. Allow your body to relax and cool down post-workout. Then follow along with a 10-minute stretching routine. This ensures that you won’t suffer from muscle damage or stiffness in the future.

Remember, it is great to prioritize working out. But it is equally important to prioritize your body’s requirements and take into consideration the many factors it goes through every day—work, food habits, emotions, hormones, physical health, mental health, and whatnot. So ensure that your fitness goals don’t just limit themselves to the way your body looks, but also the way it makes you feel.
