“All of us every single year, we’re a different person. I don’t think we’re the same person all our lives.”- Steven Spielberg

I’ve been MIA from writing blogs for 3months now, and what better way to kickstart posting this year than talking about goals.

But first, let’s start by wishing each other a Happy New Year.

I hope all you beautiful people have a Happy, Healthy, Safe, and of course a Rewarding 2022!

Spoiler alert:

If you’re here in search of “My 22 goals for 2022”, then, well, sorry to break your heart, but this article might slightly disappoint you.

Now, let’s be honest.

It’s humanly impossible for me to stick to so many goals and keep up with all of them.

So, here is a list of the Top 12 goals that I plan to stick to for this year to attract success:

1. One of my essential priorities would be to rest- both physically and mentally

It’s a common misconception that we give our bodies and minds a rest when we take a break. But being a creativity enthusiast and a writer, I’ve come to realize that even when I schedule my breaks effectively, although my body is rejuvenated, my mind is not at rest.

Similar to the background apps running on your phone that drain your phone’s battery, there are thoughts that linger at the back of your mind that drain your mental energy.

So it’s essential to consciously give your mind a rest by practicing meditation and living in the moment.

2. Then comes the urge to stay free of the weightage of impractical expectations that I impose on me

I admit… I have been craving perfection all my life, in every task I do, and it left me frustrated when my goal was not accomplished the way I hoped it to.

Listen, my friend… Perfection is like the story of vampires- intriguing, but a myth!

Hence, this year I look forward to impregnating my brain with only realistic and achievable goals.

3. My next priority would be to allow myself enough time to heal from all the scars that 2020 and 2021 have caused

Living amidst a global crisis for 2 years in a row (and continuing), I’ve come to realize that my emotional health has been put through a lot. Let’s not forget, I was even tested positive during the 2nd wave.

Truthfully…This is the goal that I’m most looking forward to achieving on this list. And this is the one goal I’d also want you to make yours.

4. Accepting that life is unpredictable and that’s the beauty of it

This is one of the fundamental yet crucial truths about life that we fail to accept.

Here’s the thing… No matter how precisely you plan every step of your life, the Universe always has its plans, and Covid19 has been a great illustration of that.

So accept what is and brace yourself to live through the odds.

5. Cherish all the beautiful milestones that I’ve crossed in 2021 and grow in 2022

This is exactly what I wanted to hear a year back. But here I am sharing this with you so that you don’t feel that your attempts were unsuccessful.

“It is important to pat your back whenever you succeed in something- no matter how big or small; if you think you didn’t succeed, then learn from your mistakes and grow.”

In short… I wish to have a more rewarding year.

6. Read more to nourish my brain

I’ve got a pile of books lying on my desk and many more on my bucket list. And I plan to complete reading at least the ones I already own in a couple of months.

My main goal is to read insightful financial books.

7. Upskill as it’ll take me to places I can’t reach otherwise

I cannot stress enough this gem of a point. Opportunities knock on your door at times that you can’t even think of imagining; the only thing you can do is to prepare yourself to grab hold of it given a chance.

Remember,

The key to long-term success is to keep learning and putting them into practice.

8. Get better at work

This goal falls in line with my previous goal, and thus I have made it a point to remind myself to upskill and upscale.

Here’s the thing… We all talk about getting a job, but we seldom talk about getting better at it. So, besides talking about getting paid better, make it a point to talk about performing better (than yourself) and being irreplaceable at your workplace.

9. Staying consistent with my blogs and ensuring to post regularly unlike the last few months of 2021 (Psst! This is a no brainer)

The last couple of months of 2021 kept me consumed with both, personal and work challenges that I took up. And it has been a prosperous journey so far. But the only regret is that I couldn’t concentrate on my blog like before; excuses aside, I look forward to posting regularly henceforth.

10. The only 2 things that kept me sane in the past couple of years were Meditation and Working out

I don’t think this needs more explanation, because this is what I’ve been consistently writing about in my blog.

Continuing with the tradition, I hope to focus on my mental fitness as much as I do on my physical fitness this year as well.

11. One of my major goals for 2022 is investing

One of my major goals for 2021 was to generate enough income to start investing, and I was able to achieve that- at least one step at a time.

So continuing with that, in 2022 too, I wish to be able to enrich my financial knowledge and invest at least 25% of my income every month.

12. Last, but certainly not the least goal- To stay healthy and happy

You see… If your health and happiness aren’t on your Resolution list, then you’ve got it all wrong. Because for any of your dreams and goals to realize, your health must be on point.

Also, with the pandemic still around, I urge you to take care of your and your loved ones’ health.

Lastly…

I’m surely not your ‘New Year, New Me’ type of human, and whatever goals I set, I ensure that It’s practically possible for me to achieve and is in tune with the year that has passed.

In short… I ensure my goals are driven towards crafting me into a better person than I was the previous year.

I’m sure you’ve already come up with your list for the year, but I hope this assists you to create one, if not.
